Religion: In fifth grade, we focus on teaching our students about the Order of the Mass and the seven sacraments. There are a variety of projects completed by the students, including commercials, skits, posters, papers, and brochures, to show understanding of these very important lessons.
Math: The main course of study in fifth grade math is fractions. We work on equivalent fractions, comparing and ordering, and adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions, as well. We also touch on some geometry, measurements, and collecting and organizing data through graphs.
Science: We begin fifth grade Science with the study of plants. We also focus on ecosystems and biomes, as well as physical science, which includes energy. We practice the scientific method throughout our chapters, and we also use this method when participating in the school Science Fair.
